Sterling silver Enameled Order of the Dragon Sigil Ring from our Vampire jewelry line. This ring features a sigil that is a replica of the Order of the Dragon symbol that Vlad the Impaler, better known as Dracula, used to signify his membership in the Order. It is believed that he wore this image as a medallion during his lifetime. The Order of the Dragon was founded in 1408, by Sigismund, the King of Hungary for the purpose of defending the Cross and fighting against the enemies of Christianity, especially the Ottoman Turks. Dracula derived his name from the Order of the Dragon, Dracula means "Son of the Dragon". Vlad's father, Vlad II, received the surname of Dracul, meaning dragon, when he was inducted into the Order in 1431. Dracula himself was inducted into the Order when he was five years old. The dragon sigil is enameled with your choice of fourteen colors. Choose from Amethyst, Black Onyx, Emerald, Jade, Peacock, Pearl, Pewter, Pink, Hot Pink, Ruby, Sapphire, Tiger's Eye, Topaz, or Zircon. (Black Onyx, Jade, Peacock, Pearl, Pewter, Pink, Hot Pink, and Tiger's Eye Enamels are an additional $10.00 US.) Enamel will not wear out with regular wear. The Order of the Dragon sigil ring is available in US sizes 5 to 13, in whole and half sizes. Sizes 13 1/2 and larger are an additional $15.00 US. The sigil measures approximately 15.9 mm (5/8") long by 16.5 mm (just over 5/8") wide. The ring measures approximately 4.5 mm (3/16") wide at the back of the band. The Order of the Dragon ring weighs approximately 6.1 grams, weight will vary with size. Allow 5 to 7 days from casting date for production of this item. This ring comes in a two-piece black ring box.
